Course Synopsis

This is a HANDS-ON course.

Implant dentistry has evolved over the past thirty plus years to provide predictable clinical outcomes and improved quality of life for many patients.  Clinical challenges still exist that require unique solutions and treatment modalities to improve success rates.  This didactic and model-based hands-on workshop will review various implant challenges and provide practical clinical solutions.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Goals of dental implant surgery.
  • Various surgical guides to aid in 3-dimensional implant placement.
  • Selection of macro-geometry implant design, micro-geometry surface treatment, diameters and lengths for various anatomical tooth replacement sites.
  • Considerations for anterior AND posterior immediate implant placement with adjunctive grafting protocol.
  • Utilization of digital technology and software for diagnosis and treatment planning for full arch implant cases.
  • Introduction of Nexus iOS protocol for temporary and definitive prosthesis.

There are no refunds or cancellations within 10 calendar days prior to the course start date. If you are eligible for a refund, the refund will be processed automatically when you cancel. Please allow for 3-5 business days for the transaction process to be completed. 

"No shows" will not be eligible for a refund.  

Course registrations are not transferable.

ACCREDITATION

This course is considered a Category 2 course by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. Full participation of this course will grant up to 8 CE points. 

 

Biographical Information
Dr. Mark Lin
Dr. Mark Lin
DDS, MSc (Prostho.), FRCD(C)

Dr. Lin graduated from the University of Toronto in the Biochemistry specialists honors program. He received his dental degree from University of Detroit Mercy in which he was on the Dean’s list for four consecutive years and finished within the top 5% of the class.  He then completed a 1-year General Practice Residency program at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton Ohio, where he received his training in hospital dentistry, intra-venous sedation and advanced surgical training. 

He practiced general dentistry for 13 years then return to complete his postgraduate training in the specialty of Prosthodontics at the University of Toronto.

He maintains a full time specialty practice as a Prosthodontist at Toronto Dental Specialist (TDS).  He is the owner and founder of the Toronto Dental Specialist with dental specialist associates in Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Endodontics, Dental Anaesthesia and Maxillofacial radiologists.  The Toronto Dental Specialist focus on full mouth reconstructions, dental implant surgery, advanced grafting procedures, implant prosthetics and management of implant complications.

He is a Fellow and Diplomate with the International Congress of Oral Implantologist (I.C.O.I.).  He is an Associate fellow and Fellow with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (A.A.I.D.) and faculty with the Asia Maxicourse Implant Residency program.  He is also a graduate and Fellow with the Misch Implant Institute. Finally, he is a Diplomate with the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry (A.B.O.I.). He also received the “Dentist of the Year” award in 2019 from the Ontario Academy of Dentistry.

He was a former co-director of the University of Toronto’s Aesthetics residency program, former co-director of the Implant Prosthodontic Unit and post graduate Prosthodontic pro-gram at University of Toronto.  He is currently an Associate in Dentistry at University of Toronto at the post graduate Prosthodontic department. He is a Fellow and serves as an Examiner with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in the specialty of Prosthodontics.
