Dr. Bettina Basrani is Tenured Associate Professor and Director, MSc Program in Endodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Basrani received her DDS degree from the University of Buenos Aires in 1989 and a Specialty Diploma in Endodontics and PhD from Maimonides University in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  A long-time educator and researcher, she began her teaching career at the University of Buenos Aires. In 2000, she moved to Canada to serve as Chair of the Endodontic Program at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 2004, she moved to Toronto, where she has continued her academic and clinical work.  Internationally recognized as a leading authority in endodontics and as an excellent lecturer, effectively combining clinical and scientific information, Dr. Basrani has received many awards throughout her career, such as the Louis Grossman Award by the French Society of Endodontics and has international courses and lectures, over 40 peer-reviewed scientific publications, three textbooks and several textbook chapters, and abstracts to her credit. Recently, in 2021 she was recognized as one of the most influential graduates from the University of Buenos Aires. She serves as reviewer for several endodontic journals. Dr. Basrani is a member of many endodontics societies around the world.

Dr. Pavel Cherkas is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry, focusing on the fields of endodontics, neurophysiology and orofacial pain. Dr. Cherkas graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel) and also successfully defended his MMedSc and PhD theses in Neuroscience from the Faculty of Medicine at the same university. He also graduated from a MSc Endodontics program at the University of Toronto. Dr. Cherkas has served on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Endodontics, Journal of Chemical Neuroanatomy and the Journal of Orofacial Pain. He is also a reviewer and associate member of the Faculty of 1000 Medicine. Dr. Cherkas has conducted pain research at several Universities worldwide such as Cambridge (UK), Leipzig (Germany) and Tokyo (Japan). He has served as a Resident Member on the Regenerative Endodontics Committee of the American Association of Endodontics and presented over 50 lectures nationally and internationally on topics related to his expertise.

Dr. Emily Bishop obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Dalhousie University in 2019. After graduation, she practiced general dentistry in Halifax Nova Scotia for two years before moving to pursue her Masters in Endodontics at the University of Toronto. Emily is passionate about helping patients retain their natural dentition and re-establish their oral health. Dr. Bishop plans to return to her hometown of Fredericton New Brunswick following her graduation in 2024. 

Dr. Daniel Cho-Kee earned his DDS at Western University and practiced general dentistry for several years before enrolling at the University of Toronto Endodontics program.  He has a passion for endodontics, surgery, and patient management to make his appointments as seamless as possible.

Dr. Shivani Desai received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in India followed by Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of Alberta in 2020. She made a move to Toronto the same year to pursue a hospital residency at the Mount Sinai Hospital. She provided comprehensive dental care to the severely medically compromised population along with emergency services to the community. She is currently in the second year of specialty training in Endodontics at the University of Toronto and strives to provide the highest level of patient care in her field. 

Dr. Ahmed Ismail studied dentistry twice, first at the University of Baghdad and then again at the University of Toronto. He had six years of experience as a general dentist. His research focus is on pain and patient-related outcomes. He is interested in exploring different methods and new state-of-the-art technology. 

Dr. Dani Meyerson obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in 2020, where she was awarded the Student Leadership Award in her graduating year. Following her dental school graduation, Dani worked as a general dentist in Thunder Bay, Ontario for one year prior to entering her endodontic residency. Currently, Dani is in her final year of the 3-year Masters in Endodontics Program at the University of Toronto, where she is serving as Chief Resident. 

Dr. Lauren Rotondi is from Vaughan, Ontario. She attended the University of Toronto, where she obtained her Honors Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Doctor of Dental Surgery. Following graduation, she worked in private practice before joining the graduate endodontics program.
