The Association for Continuing Dental Education (ACDE), along with 37 of its member schools, is jointly providing a series of live webinars. This series features university-based key opinion leaders presenting numerous topics on multiple dates and times. Presentations are available to meet every dental professional’s schedule and interests.
Course Description
This course explores the critical role of provisional restorations in implant prosthodontics, focusing on soft tissue management, esthetics, and function. Clinical workflows using both analog and digital techniques will be presented. Participants will learn when and how to implement each approach for predictable outcomes.

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Explain the biological and esthetic importance of provisional restorations in implant therapy.
- Identify clinical indications for immediate versus delayed implant provisionalization.
- Compare analog and digital techniques for fabricating implant provisionals.
- Design a custom emergence profile to guide peri-implant soft tissue healing.
- Integrate provisionalization into a predictable, patient-centered implant workflow.

Presenter
Dr. Katerina (Aikaterini) Anastasaki is an assistant professor of Prosthodontics at Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine.
She is an experienced clinician with a strong background in digital dentistry, implant planning, and full-mouth rehabilitations. Dr. Anastasaki received her D.D.S. degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, and pursued advanced education in Prosthodontics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she also obtained her Master’s degree in Implant Prosthodontics. In addition to her academic role, Dr. Anastasaki is dedicated to advancing prosthodontic practice through her clinical expertise, with extensive experience in treating complex prosthodontic cases
Her clinical interests include temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, occlusion, and digital workflows in implant dentistry. She is also passionate about full-mouth rehabilitation and aesthetic dentistry.
Dr. Anastasaki provides hands-on training in these areas, helping both students and professionals develop practical skills for managing challenging restorative cases. She lectures nationally and internationally on advanced prosthodontics topics, further contributing to the education and development of the field.
