Course Description
This course provides an evidence-based overview of the dental management of medically compromised patients commonly encountered in clinical practice. Emphasis is placed on understanding the pathophysiology and pharmacologic management of systemic conditions—including neurological, cardiovascular, and endocrine disorders—and their implications for dental care. Participants will review how commonly prescribed medications influence oral health, dental treatment planning, and the risk of drug interactions. Practical strategies for modifying dental treatment, minimizing medical risk, and managing potential medical emergencies in the dental setting will be discussed. The course aims to enhance clinicians’ confidence in safely treating patients with complex medical histories.
