Cancellations made more than 10 calendar days before the course start date will receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 10 calendar days of the course start date.
Refunds will not be issued for registrants who do not attend, regardless of reason for absence.

A fire in a dental office can have devastating consequences, including interruption of patient care, damage to specialized equipment, loss of records, regulatory challenges and significant financial impact. This course is designed to provide dentist and practice owners with the knowledge and tools necessary to proactively prepare for, respond to and recover from a dental office fire or other catastrophic event.Participants will gain an understanding of fire prevention strategies, emergency preparedness planning and staff training. The course will also examine the critical role of insurance to protect your dental practice including property coverage, business interruption and equipment replacement.

Dental 3D printing is a cutting-edge technology that allows for the creation of custom dental solutions with high precision. Using digital models, it can produce crowns, bridges, implants, dentures and orthodontic devices. This process enhances treatment accuracy, reduces production time and minimizes waste. It enables faster, more personalized care for patients, improving both comfort and functionality. Dental 3D printing is revolutionizing the dental industry, making procedures more efficient and cost-effective, a benefit to both the patient and the practice. This course will
introduce the basic concepts of 3D printing and some easy, cost-effective applications such as the fabrication of study models and bruxism appliances. A live demonstration of capturing patient data, designing dental appliances and getting it ready for 3D printing will be performed.
Presenters
Dr. Maria Colaiacovo completed her Bachelor of Science at Queen’s University. She continued her studies at The University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry, where she graduated with Honours and was especially recognized for her achievements in both restorative and preventive dentistry. Upon graduation, she completed the hospital dental residency program at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. She continues to maintain her hospital privileges as a part-time special care dentist at Mount Sinai hospital and is currently the Deputy-in-Chief and Co-Director of the Hospital Dental Residency Program. Maria also teaches and lectures students at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto.
With an extensive background in dental regulation and professional development, Dr. Swayze oversees the Continuing Dental Education program at the Faculty of Dentistry. As well as being an expert in continuing education, Dr. Swayze is also an expert in infection prevention and control and involved in the development of national standards and guidelines. He is a member of the CSA Technical Committee on Medical Device Reprocessing (Z314) [Z262 TC], setting the national standard on reprocessing, and a member of IPAC Canada.
Dr. Matthew Chuk graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours in Bachelor of Science in Human Biology, Minor in Psychology and Masters of Science in Molecular Biology. After publishing several well-reviewed papers and a textbook, Dr. Chuk graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry. He has won the prestigious Xi Psi Phi Bone and Devo Award and the American General Dentistry Association Award. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry, employing the newest cutting-edge technologies to better help his patients. In his free time, he enjoys amateur photography, pickleball, and spending time with his family and friends.
