Course Description

This lecture presents a review of the fundamentals and systematic interpretation of panoramic imaging.  Common technical errors and methods to rectify them will be discussed. A systematic method of reviewing these images with a discussion of important anatomic structures and variants will be presented. Discussions will include the basics of image interpretation, a practical review of interesting cases, common incidental findings, and limitations of this imaging modality.

  • Upon completing this course:

    • Understand how to create an optimal panoramic image
    • Develop a routine for the systematic evaluation of an image
    • Review the fundamentals of image interpretation
    • Practical review with cases

Speaker

Dr. Gaurav Krishnamoorthy obtained his BSc and DMD degrees at McGill University, AEGD at the University of Connecticut, and MSc in Oral Radiology at the University of Toronto.

He currently works at the department of dental oncology and maxillofacial prosthetics at Princess Margaret Hospital, in private practice in Ontario.
