Oral Rehabilitation in Pediatric Dentistry

Course Description

This course will include a morning lecture discussing the following concepts:

  • Diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Pulp therapy in the primary dentition
  • Role of the stainless-steel crown in pediatric dentistry
  • Overview of behavior management in pediatric dentistry

The afternoon session will be a hands-on session with mannequins:

  • Performing pulpotomies on primary teeth
  • Performing stainless steel crowns on primary teeth
  • A review session will complete the course at day’s end

  • To provide the general practitioner with the confidence to be able to select when primary teeth require pulp therapy and/or a stainless-steel crown and be able to provide this service.

  • Please arrive within 30 minutes before the course start time to sign in.

    Staff will be available at the Faculty of Dentistry’s Edward St entrance to admit participants into the building as this building is not open to the public. If you arrive too early, you may need to wait until staff arrive.

    Hotels & Parking

  • Complimentary lunch is provided for course participants. Please indicate any dietary restrictions upon registration.

    Hands-on materials and equipment are provided for participants to use in the course.

  • Cancellations made more than 10 calendar days before the course start date will receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 10 calendar days of the course start date.

    Refunds will not be issued for registrants who do not attend, regardless of reason for absence.

    Registrations cannot be transferred to another individual.

    To cancel your registration, please follow the link and instructions provided in the registration confirmation email. If you are eligible for a refund, the refund will be processed automatically upon cancellation. Please allow 3-5 business days for the transaction to be completed.

Instructor

Dr. Yanover is a well-regarded pediatric dentist and an instructor at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Dentistry. He has a wealth of experience, having graduated from the University of Toronto with a DDS in 1977, a Diploma in Pediatric Dentistry in 1982, and a PhD in Oral Biology in 1984. Dr. Yanover has contributed significantly to the field through both private practice and academic roles, including full-time clinical instruction and research at Western University from 1984 to 1986, and part-time clinical instruction at the University of Toronto from 1986 to 2021​.

Dr. Yanover has over 20 publications in pediatric dentistry, focusing on areas such as pediatric zirconia restorations and caries prevention. He has also delivered more than 50 presentations on infection control and pediatric dentistry, both nationally and internationally. Additionally, Dr. Yanover is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry​.
