ACDE Webinar Series

ACDE (Association for Continuing Dental Education)

The Association for Continuing Dental Education (ACDE), along with 37 of its member schools, is jointly providing a series of live webinars. This series features university-based key opinion leaders presenting numerous topics on multiple dates and times. Presentations are available to meet every dental professional’s schedule and interests.

Course Description

In this webinar, we will explore the common myths and realities surrounding implant radiology, focusing on critical anatomical landmarks such as the Canalis Sinuosus, Posterior Superior Alveolar Artery (PSAA), and the Mandibular Canal. Implant procedures often rely heavily on imaging techniques, yet many misconceptions persist in the field. From the perceived safety of certain anatomical regions to assumptions about radiographic assessments, this session will debunk widely held myths and provide evidence-based insights into best practices. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how to properly evaluate these anatomical structures using radiographs, ensuring more accurate implant placement and improved patient outcomes.

  • Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

    • Identify common misconceptions in implant radiology and understand the underlying facts.
    • Evaluate critical anatomical landmarks on radiographs that influence implant placement and planning.
    • Recognize the limitations of panoramic and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) in implant diagnostics.
    • Apply best practices in radiological assessment to avoid complications during and after implant procedures.
  • This webinar will be held on Zoom.

Instructions will be sent to you by email closer to the course start date on how to access the Zoom meeting.

  • Cancellations made more than 10 calendar days before the course start date will receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 10 calendar days of the course start date.
